Grandmas quilts!

As long as I can remember my grandma has always made quilts for any baby being born within the family. I have always looked forward to the day when I would be receiving one of her special quilts. Well my friends, that time has finally come. I not only got 1 but 2 of her masterpieces! They are so beautiful and so soft and you can just feel the love she put into them, I am beyond excited to lay my baby boy down in his crib and cover him up with one of Grandmas quilts.

Thank you Grandma, Marcus and I will Cherish them forever!

32 Weeks!

I’ve once again fallen behind on my blogging! Last week was so busy with doctor appointments, baby shower planning and prep, baby classes and lots of swimming. Later this week I’ll have a fun blog to post summarizing our baby shower that was held on Saturday. For now, I wanted to post my 32 weeks photo.

Our little man is SO handsome, if I may say so myself! He has cute chubby cheeks, puffy lips, long fingers, big feet and hair! He is also very long, he is going to be tall just like his momma and papa. He was very busy trying to hide from the camera and attempting to lick his cord, what a silly boy!

31 Weeks!

Today I went for a long swim, swimming while pregnant is such a wonderful experience! I feel so light, my tummy feels as if it wants to float and when Marcus moves it feels so surreal. After I came home and took a quick shower I snapped my 31 weeks photo.

You’re Invited!

Last year a dear friend of mine Jenny, introduced me to the wonderful world of alcohol inks! We had a craft day at her house that consisted of making greeting cards and a fabulous dinner. I had so much fun learning how these inks worked and was so excited with the thought of having my own collection one day. Surprise! Jenny, (being so extremely thoughtful and remembering how much I fell in love with these inks) got me a gift basket filled with everything necessary to alcohol ink for my bridal shower. So, when the topic of baby shower invites came up I knew A) I wanted to make them and B) I HAD to use my super awesome alcohol inks. I played with a couple different ideas and this is what I came up with! What do you think?!? I had my sister in law Michelle come over and help me construct the invites since it was such a lengthy process and she too fell in love with alcohol inks (see what you started Jenny..He he).

Truthfully, the scanner doesn’t do the invite any justice!

Anyways I am beyond excited for our shower on the 25th, It will be so wonderful to be surrounded by all our friends and family to celebrate our little man!

Long time coming....

First and foremost my apologies for slacking in the blog department! The last few weeks had been so chaotic with the school year coming to end. I am pleased to say today is my first day of Summer Vacation/Maternity leave. I’m still unsure how long this “vacation or leave” will last since I was laid off. When I say I was laid off I mean my position was eliminated due to school budget cuts and the number of students that are enrolled for the 2011-2012 school year are down. I am on the substitute list as of October 1st (I took August/September off to be home with Marcus) but there is no telling how many calls I’ll get and how frequently I’ll be working. This situation is truly bitter/sweet! I’m so excited to start this next chapter in our lives and begin my journey as a mom but at the same time I am little terrified about going down to one income (Yikes!). I have a huge agenda of things to do before our little man gets here, mostly “nesting” so many projects I want to get done around the house and of course getting the nursery all set! Now that I am on vacation I promise to keep up with my blog, I have no excuses!

Since I haven’t posted them yet, here is my 29 week photo and my 30 week photo. I still need to snap my 31 week photo since Thursday will mark 32 weeks!
