Monster Mash!

Growing up as a child I always feared "monsters", I had an image built up in my mind of a gruesome, multiple eyed, beast who ate children for breakfast! I had no idea that monsters came this stinking cute:

Haha! For Halloween Marcus was a one eyed monster. He as you can see was beyond adorable! For Halloween we went to see Ava's 2nd birthday party and followed with some trick or treating in Kathleen's neighborhood. Marcus was so darn cute, anxiously running up to houses yelling “dada dada” with a huge smile on his face and grabbing candies from people. He wont remember his 2nd Halloween and yet I’ll never forget it.

Happy Halloween and 2nd Birthday to our Ava girl!

Apple Hill 2012

Ever since I was a little girl I've looked forward to my annual trip to Apple Hill, and Last year was no exception. It was extremely exciting to take Marcus there for his first official visit (even if he had no idea where we were and what was going on).

Here is a link to last years blog post about our visit: http://thehamptonswatchusgrow.blogspot.com/2011/11/apple-hill.html

Last year Chris wasn't able to make it, but since it was little mans first visit it seemed pretty fitting that my mom came along, after all shes the one that started this yearly tradition! So this year we decided to make the trip with just our little family (don't worry mom, you weren't forgotten! We brought you a pie!). We went up first thing on a Saturday morning, it wasn't very busy, the weather was perfect and High Hill Ranch smelled of yummy cider, apple doughnuts and apple pies! We enjoyed some tasty treats, fresh air and created some fun memories with our little man. Here are some ADORABLE photos from our visit.

Aaron and Merideth say "I do".

What an exciting day! We had the pleasure of attending our dear friends, Aaron and Merideth's wedding two weekends ago. The day was absolutely perfect, Mer did such a great job! Not only was it a special day for the happy couple but it was a big day for us as well, Marcus had his first sleepover at Grandmas! It was difficult dropping him off before we left town but we had such a great time at the wedding that the night came and went and before we knew it, it was 10am and we were picking our baby boy up.

We will never forget you both.

Two weeks ago we said "goodbye" to our furbabies, our first born...our kitties. This was probably the most difficult decision I have had to make in a very long time. Life for our cats had changed dramatically once Marcus was born. Our schedules were more chaotic so we had less time for them and once we had a baby that was mobile Shadow refused to come downstairs, he would hide out in the bathroom upstairs and howl. I was being selfish for so long, keeping them here with us just because I didn't want to sacrifice my feelings. I miss them terribly, dropping them off was extremely painful..I cried puddles of tears. I do know that they are better off, in fact today they both had much needed dental work done that we just couldn't afford when they were here with us. They were such great cats and we will forever love and miss them.

We love you Tink and Shadow,

Marcus meets the ER!!

Well this is a "first" that I wasn't looking forward to and to be honest I wasn't expecting to experience this early on. Marcus had his first trip to the emergency room this week. Thursday afternoon I had got off work, went to the bank and Target and while I was driving home Chris called with the news. Marcus had pulled one of our dining room chairs on top of him, this resulted in a cut about 1cm in length and because it was a head wound there was lots of blood. I think Mommy and Daddy had a more difficult time with this then he did, he bounced back extremely quickly and yet Chris and I are still healing emotionally. Its true what they say, we wish we could have taking that gash for him so he didn't have to feel any pain.

The morning of:

On our way to the Emergency Room:

Waiting to be discharged:

The day after:

They were able to use liquid stitches instead of actually stitching or stapling the gash. Hopefully since he is so young and they were able to use the liquid stitches he will have minimal if any scaring at all.

This was by far the most difficult situation I have faced as a parent, Chris agrees!

Thank goodness our sweet baby boy is okay. We love you Mister, you are so brave and Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!

The Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend we went to a local pumpkin patch to celebrate Jackson's 2nd birthday. My friend Kaylee did such a great job, and what a great idea for a venue! Marcus had a great time as did Chris and I. The pumpkin patch had us SO excited for our trip to Apple Hill later this month. Here are some adorable photos from day:

Happy 2nd Birthday, Jackson!
