FREEDOM!

I am so excited to say after 6 years my car is paid off! I bought my car when I was 19, I never missed a payment nor was I late! I'm a proud owner of a 2006 Kia Sorento, this baby is ALL mine!

Feels so good!

To celebrate I got an oil change and my front brakes done. Soon as this weather decides exactly what its going to do I plan to take it in for a detailing.

Welcome to the world, Eva!

Remember my sweet friend, Stefanie I was telling you about? Well great news! Sweet Eva Bianca Pace has arrived! She was born on Saturday March 16th , 5 lbs 11 oz, 17.5 inches. She arrived a month early but she's perfection and healthy! I was so excited she came on the weekend, I was able to drive down and meet her for the first time in the NICU. She is so tiny and so sweet and looks just like her big sister Olivia.

Doctor, Doctor give me the news...

Its been a rough start to this new year as far as our health goes. All 3 of us have had countless colds, Marcus had croup, and crazy eczema break outs. Chris had the flu and eye surgery and I had 2 styes (one internal and one external). I went on an antibiotic only to find out the hard way I was allergic to it and my eye swelled shut! Also, I had my lap band adjusted, it became to tight and I couldn't keep anything down even after having the fluid removed, I spent a day at the hospital and a couple days in bed recovering after that. Not much to this post, mostly just letting everyone know why we have been MIA the last three months and why we have had to reschedule so many visits/parties and playdates.

Just for fun, here is a couple photos of my eye dilemma and Chris's eye surgery.

I am happy to say things are finally looking up! Lets hope we will have a healthy spring and summer!

Knockin' on Heavens door...

I have always been a spiritual person but never in my life had I felt so close to our Lord than the night he took my grandfather from me.

First off lets rewind to last Monday, I was having a terrible day..one of those when I just don't understand why everything happens the way it does. I was on my way home feeling exhausted, drained somewhat lifeless and HE knew this, he sent me a sign that he was looking out for me. That sign; "Knockin' On Heavens Door" came on the radio. I pulled over, I cranked up my volume and I cried.

Why does this song have such an impact on me, you ask? The night my grandfather died I drove to my moms to pick her up and then to my grandparents. While driving I sobbed, my mom sobbed..we just felt so numb. I asked God "Lord, please send me a sign...let me know he is with you, and safe. Please let me know he isn't suffering anymore", I repeated this over and over again. My family and I had two hours with him before he was taken from the home.....

(I'm balling as I type this, the emotions are just as raw as they were when he left us.)

I knelt beside him to say"Goodbye", I rubbed his face...I kissed his head and I said prayer. I asked the lord again to send me a sign. My grandfather laid peacefully in his bed, beside him his nightstand and his radio which was still playing his AM radio talk show. During this moment on the radio (A TALK SHOW, not regular music station) came Bob Dylan's "Knockin On Heavens Door". God works is such mysterious ways, I asked and he answered. I looked up at my mom, we had never felt so saddened yet relived at the same time. I knew that was his sign, I knew my grandpa was safe.

NOT.ONE.SINGLE.DAY.GOES.BY.THAT.I.DON'T.MISS.HIM!

We are nearing 4 years since he left, he may not be here physically but everyday he lives on in my heart and in my memories.

I love and miss you, Grandpa!

18 Month stats:

Marcus man turned 18 months on February 24th which meant it was time for a well baby check up. My goodness my boy is growing up so fast! His weight is tapering off, in fact he weighed less for this check up than he did at his 15 month appointment.

Here are his stats:

Height: 35.5 inches (off the chart)
Weight: 27lbs 4oz (86%)
Head: 50cm (97%)

Gosh he is beyond adorable!
He wasn't to excited about his 3 vaccinations though (glad I missed those!).
Dr.Kelly said he is doing well, he is extremely healthy and everything looks and sounds great! I love our guy.

Sugar and spice...

and everything nice, that's what little girls are made of! On February 17th I had the pleasure/honor of hosting a baby shower for my good friend Stefanie. Stef is expecting her 2nd sweet baby girl later this month. For those of you who don't know, Stefanie and I went to high school together. We were married 10 days apart and were also pregnant together, in fact our due dates were just a few days apart!

and our adorable children Valentines day 2012:

This pregnancy has been a little different for Stefanie. Early into her 2nd trimester Stefanie was diagnosed with cancer! Hodgkin's Lymphoma stage 3b. I'm pretty sure the world around me froze when I got the news, I remember just sobbing. I continued to sob off and on for a few days but it was Stefanie's strength that convinced me all was going to be well. Stefanie is such an inspiration, shes kicking cancers ass, caring for her toddler, Olivia, growing this precious baby girl and being a wonderful, loving wife to her husband. Her strength is so amazing!

Here are some photos from her shower:

My goal was to have a beautiful celebration for Stefanie, centred on the beautiful blessing she is about to bring into the world. I wanted her focus to be on the baby and not cancer.

Lastly, these are just to beautiful not to share! Stefanie her husband Ryan and Olivia had maternity photos done this past week, I must admit when I look at them I cry..EVERY single time! Happy tears of course. Gorgeous, notice the watermark of who the photographer is...lol Kathleen you are AMAZING!

How lucky am I to have a best friend who is also a very talented photographer?! I say the same thing after each and every shoot; Kathleen, you out did yourself this time! We love them! Its fun to look back at our Christmas photos from 2011 ( http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=6799119031797211763#editor/target=post;postID=3421527823665285610 ) and see how much our little guy has grown.

Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!
