The happiest place on earth!

This trip was years in the making. The last time I visited the happiest place on earth I was 14, that was 12 years ago! The last time Chris went was when he was 13, 20 years ago! So to say this trip was long overdue is an understatement.

We left Sacramento at 3:30 am Monday, June 10th.

As you can see Marcus was way too excited to sleep on the way down, he was watching Wreck it Ralph and of course Mickey!

Notice he was dressed for the occasion?!?

You would think after a 6.5 hour car ride with NO NAP he would be ready to crash once we checked into our room, oh no! Not my child. He wants to meet Mickey!

Finally after two additional hours he was out.

Once sleeping beauty woke we went and checked out Downtown Disney, did a little shopping and had a tasty dinner at The Rainforest Cafe.

Love my guys!

After dinner we went back to our room to rest up for 3 fun filled Disneyland and California Adventure days! That's 2 parks, 3 days!

His favorite ride of the day, to and from the hotel on the shuttle bus!

We LOVED Cars Land!

Turkey legs and milkshakes for lunch!

He was a huge fan of Chip & Dale

Our last day was shared with someone very special to me! Someone I consider an Aunt, Shannon! Shannon lives in Southern California, we try to see each other every couple years and this years visit was very special, she met Marcus for the first time.

He was so comfortable with her, it warmed my heart! Marcus and Shannon got some alone time while we took in a few rides.

This trip as previously stated was long overdue. It was such a wonderful break for us, we enjoyed the time together and building lifelong memories. Until next time, we love you Disneyland!!

7 years, going strong!

I know now that we are married we have a wedding anniversary but we still like to recognize the day we officially became a couple.
The last year presented more challenges to us than we had ever faced in our relationship. It wasn’t always easy, we would argue over petty stuff and go to bed angry. We would have days where we just weren’t on the same page let alone in the same book but that’s life! Life (relationships) isn’t easy, and sometimes we get so busy and so caught up on the big stressors in life that we forget to stop and enjoy the wonderful things in life (each other). It wasn’t always easy, we aren’t perfect people by any means but I truly believe we are perfect for each other and we can make it through anything, together!

To celebrate our special day marking 7 years of this wonderful life we share, we had a nice lunch out with our little dude and splurged on new matching shoes for upcoming trip to DISNEYLAND!!
It was a wonderful day, couldn’t have asked for more. Love you, Christopher!

School is out for...SUUUUUMMMMMMEEEERRR!

I always look forward to summer vacation and this year was even more exciting. After taking the first year of Marcus' life off work to be home with him I had a very difficult time transitioning into a working mom. I missed the morning cuddles on the couch while watching Mickey, I missed putting him down and waking him up from every nap, I missed the playdates at the park, book store and mall play area, I missed building memories with my boy...it was him and I from 7am-5:30pm every day. Most of all I missed being there to watch every move he made, experience things for the first time and figure out how things worked.

I started counting the days until summer vacation in February, truthfully all my coworkers and I did. We had an ongoing count down on our whiteboard. My anticipation grew with each day. The last day of school was very good to me! Chair massage, Jamba juice. Noah's bagels, Flowers from my very sweet student and a fun filled staff party.

Marcus was very excited for summer too, it was his last day of daycare until August.

"I will never forget this year because.... That Mrs. Hampton was my aide".

Happy Summer all!
